Abstrak/Catatan The objective of this study was to know whether there is any significance different between the students who are taught oral recount text by using picture and the students who are taught oral recount text by using other method in increasing speaking skill or not.This research conducted at the first grade students of SMAN 1 Kembang Tanjong. The sample of this study were X MIPA 4 class as experimental which consist of 15 students and X MIPA 1 as control class which consist of 15 students. To find the data, the researcher did experimental teaching for six meetings. The instrument used to collected the data in this research was a set of oral test, consisted of pre-test and post-test. It was aimed to find out the improvement of the students’ skill in mastering speaking before and after using picture. The data showed that, the mean score of pre-test the experimental class was 13,46 while the mean score of pre-test in control class was 11,3. The mean score of post-test in experimental class was 39,33 while the mean score of post-test in control class was 24,3 In this research null hypothesis was rejected and alternative hypothesis was accepted. In this research null hypothesis was rejected and alternative hypothesis was accepted. It mean that the using of picture in teaching oral recount text significantly improve the students’ speaking skill. |
